I was born in Manhattan, New York on June 6, 1976. I was raised in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, New York. At the age of six, I got my tiny little fingers on a Commodore 64 computer. I learned how to write simple programs like making the computer say my name on the screen endlessly or making a few pixels bounce off the walls of my 13 inch orange monochrome monitor. Outside of learning how the computer functioned, I also competed in many video games with all the children in my building.
By the age of 11, I got my hands on a Windows 3.1 "clone" computer. IBM's were the "in" thing at that time but living in a poor to moderate-income household, the 40MHz-1 MB clone computer was the best money could offer. I then learned a great deal about Windows OS, dial-up, IRC, viruses, DOS, CMOS and upgrading hardware.
In junior high school, I was required to take a computer class on Apple computers. The Apple computers had the same concepts as the Commodore 64 computer and Windows-based computers combined.
When college time came around, I had quite a knack for socializing with the technology department. I almost obtained a job at Pace University but one April night I acquired a combination of both asthma and pneumonia and had to drop out of college for two months. With such a setback, I failed my second semester of classes. But I didn't give up. I continued to go to school until one day a headhunter called me in for a position as a Web Developer. I began at the job in 1999 where I learned a great deal about programming and graphics on the web and customer service.
Currently, I just landed a job with Vault.com as their Senior Web Producer. I look forward to this opportunity and look forward to getting my Bachelors in August 2008!
